Tamasin (Tammy) Pocoock - Tamzdane Great Danes - United Kingdom

Since childhood Great Danes have been part of my life, our first family dog was a Fawn female who lived to the grand old age of 11years old, she introduced us to the world of Great Danes and was the start of a life long passion.

I breed and show under the Tamzdane affix which is jointly owned with my mother Lorraine, we specialise in the Harlequin/Mantle/Black/Merle colouring, we have also owned Fawn and Brindle Great Danes.

I am a successful breeder and handler winning some amazing awards with my dogs. I have also had the privilege of handling some great dogs over the years for Vanmore and Ravendane kennels, plus others. My most memorable wins have been; Crufts Best of Breed in 2015 with Multi Ch Tamzdane Jamaican me crazy JW and in 2019 I won EuDDC Champion and Best in Show with Ch Tamzdane Cake My Day. We regularly compete at shows in the UK and I have also exhibited in a few European counties including Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Luxembourg.

I have judged for many years in the UK awarding CC's, I only judge Great Danes. I have had the honour of judging previously in Ireland, Norway and Belgium at club specialties. This will be my first time in Finland and I look forward to seeing your beautiful country and judging your Danes.

I started showing dogs as a junior handler in the UK in 1968. My first breeds were Irish and English Setters which I bred under the Lapsewood prefix and started judging the breeds at Open Show level in 1976. It was while showing my first Irish Setter back in the late 60's I entered a show under the late Bill Siggers who awarded me my first ever first prize. Bill Siggers became a great mentor of mine and introduced me to his love of Great Danes. In 1989 I moved to New Zealand and it was here that I saw the opportunity to own my first Great Dane. Since that time under the Lapsewood prefix I have both bred and owned Great Dane Champions in Fawn, Brindle and Black including Best In Show – All Breed winners and Best In Show – Specialty show winners. I have been fortunate to judge Specialty Great Dane shows in Australia, UK, USA and Denmark, I am so looking forward to judging my favourite breed in Finland and I thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
